Area of Expertise:

Conceiving, developing and leading international education programs for undergraduates and industry representatives in a variety of focus areas and disciplines, including arts and letters, business (supply chain and marketing), agriculture and natural resources, as well as international development.

International Experience:
  • Founder and Faculty Coordinator, MSU International Business in China;
  • Founder and Faculty Coordinator, MSU Marketing and Cultural Studies in Japan


  • Global Humanitarian Efforts:

    • Co-founder of Hope’s Bridge, a nonprofit organization dedicated to community health, education, and the environment in Ghana.
    • Member of advisory board for Solidarity Bridge Clothing, a fair trade initiative dedicated to improving the lives of Bolivian citizens. 
    • Engaged in service-based travel in Bolivia (September and October 2005), where I joined a medical and enterprise mission to provide medical supplies and business consulting to impoverished indigenous groups in La Paz and Cochabamba, Bolivia.
    • Coordinated fund-raising campaign to pay for a kidney transplant for a 47-year old mother in Cochabamba, Bolivia (November and December, 2005) and ran the Chicago Marathon in 2007 to raise funds for a Children’s Heart Repair project in Bolivia.
    • Partnered with Solidarity Bridge executive director to conceptualize a new enterprise in Bolivia designed to improve the livelihoods of taxi drivers by financing conversions to a less expensive natural gas fuel.

    Global Travel:

    • Have traveled extensively through North and South Asia, Western and Eastern Europe, South America and Africa.
    • Spent three months backpacking across China, Mongolia, and Siberia in the summer of 2002.
    • Spent one month exploring cooperative business opportunities in tourism, education, and automotive manufacturing in China and Mongolia in fall 2003.
    • Conducted informal English business writing training seminar in Liuzhou, China for employees at Wuling Automotive Factory, a joint venture with General Motors in October 2003.

    Mongolia Study Abroad:

    • Proposed study abroad program in Mongolia for Human Biology majors.
    • Awarded site visit grant on basis of feasibility document exploring potential of a study abroad program to Mongolia.
    • Consulted in the development and implementation of Lansing Community College Humanities Study Abroad in Mongolia.
